“A Hitchhiker’s Guide To A Verse” by Loop Minded Individuals – Full Length Album Out Now!

Looking for something fresh to elevate your weekend listening??? Well, look no further… Loop Minded Individuals’ (ESH the Monolith and Intrikit) new album “A Hitchhiker’s Guide to a Verse” is just that and much much more! With such an epic lineup of tracks and features this is one project that’s just impossible to overlook and even better it’s available on a limited edition cassette tape via I Had an Accident Records right here:

“The idea of taking the listener through a journey is one that gets tossed around frequently by artists. But with “Loop Minded Individuals: A Hitchhikers Guide to A Verse,” ESH the Monolith and Intrikit look to take that concept one step further.

ESH and Intrikit – producer/MCs representing Boston and Norwich, CT., respectively – spearhead the 10-track project, a throwback to gritty late-’90s rap compilations that aims to bring together some of the finest up-and-coming vocalists in independent music. Loosely inspired by the Douglas Adams’ novel its name pays homage to, the album invites an array of MCs and singers to hop on soundscapes, sharing their story with ESH and Intrikit and, in turn, the listener.

“We used this album as an opportunity to work with some of the talented people we’ve met around the country. We wanted to have a wide range of voices, each bringing their unique story and perspective,” says ESH, whose previous projects include 2009’s “The ADDventures of an E.ccentric S.uper H.ero,” 2011’s “Invisible” (with producer Dox Ellis) and, most recently, “Nightworks,” a collaboration with AR Classic producer The Arcitype.

Aside from ESH and Intrikit (whose own work includes the 2013 DIM release “Bright Ideas”), “Loop Minded Individuals” features vocals from Elucid, Moe Pope, Roc Doogie, Romen Rok, Has-Lo, Teddy Faley, F. Virtue, DeeBee, the Kreators, Seez Mics (Educated Consumers), Grey Sky Appeal and others. Renowned turntablists Emoh Betta and DJ Merf also make contributions.

“We tried to construct a cohesive picture which a bunch of loose puzzle pieces,” ESH says. “We hope the listener enjoys the ride.” “

Just a note; there are only 36 of these cassettes left, so don’t sleep too long if you’d like to get your hands one one.

Duke01 - Steroid stereo

“Steroid Stereo(Orange Edition)” – New Album from Duke01 – Out Now!

Uk emcee Duke01 just dropped his brand new album on Steroid Stereo(Orange Edition) out now on Uncommon Records!!
You can grab yourself a copy here:

“Nottingham, U.K. and Staten Island, N.Y. have never felt so close. Separated by the Atlantic Ocean but re-united by a common language, the two have created Steroid Stereo (Orange Edition), the latest experimental, gritty, head-nodding offering from Uncommon Records. With lyrics by Duke01 and production by Uncommon Nasa, Steroid Stereo (Orange Edition) is the epitome of what listeners have come to expect from an Uncommon Records release—raw, complex beats and insightful, incisive lyrical flows. This album will remind you of the way hip hop felt 20 years ago while sounding like hip hop will 20 years in the future. Duke01’s no-nonsense, eardrum-thumping flows are accented by some of the fiercest cuts you will ever hear. Furious P, one of the UK’s most accomplished turntablists, blesses the tracks with scratches that would make Q-Bert proud. The overall sound of Steroid Stereo (Orange Edition) is an in-your-face, auditory assault by the special forces of Uncommon Nasa’s Orange Army. And you should expect nothing less from Uncommon Records. Steroid Stereo (Orange Edition) is the first album since Uncommon Records issued a decree that all of its future releases will be produced by Uncommon Nasa (he also mixed and mastered this album). Additionally, the release includes both the full tracks and instrumentals—something Uncommon Records will be doing on all future releases. The production feel is signature Uncommon Nasa, starting with “Killed Your Radio” which smacks you across the head with a banging, crisp, layered sound. On “The Pursuit of Cow Meat,” Uncommon Nasa flips a proto-punk beat and Duke01 drives the track with punishing lyrics. “Ellington Binary” has an apocalyptic feel, and Duke01 is definitely gonna get his before it all ends. And if you’re into lyricists, the posse cut is on another level—Duke01 is joined by Dwyzak, Masai Bey, Passive 65ive, Atari Blitzkrieg and Uncommon Nasa for a seven-minute opus that demonstrates for all what can really only be called the Uncommon Sound”.

“Nausea. Disorienting. Anxious. Unsettled. It is hard to imagine better words for the debut release by post-noise rap pioneers Moodie Black. Like the concept of Nausea itself used in existential philosophies of Jean Paul Sartre, the album is a sonic confrontation with the beauty of an unsettled mood, a disconnection with what is everyday and common. Following up their 2013 self-titled E.P. that herald their mastery of integrating hip-hop styled rap with punishing noise, static, and industrial yet melodic soundscapes, Nausea offers audiences a different vision of what noise rap can be. Unlike the uptempo tracks found on their self-titled E.P. release (No Blood ft. Ceschi Ramos; Hipster Death; Last Griot ft. Dälek), Nausea reveals a more downtempo, near catatonic, dystopian, and beautiful mood. The band seems to have traded in raw, punishing static force, for more sophisticated ambient sounds and progressions. The album has a dark continuity and holds together well under its half-time rhythmic, head nod inducing pulses. Lyrics tell a story about the band’s frustrations with mass conformity, societal lack of sincerity, all while also paying homage to the transcendent quality of the human struggle as a meaningful one. Like the existential concept of Nausea itself, Moodie Black’s Nausea present sonic basic truths about human nature and existence. As its big beats, prodding rhythms, on point lyrical flows, wailing vocals, blissed out synth and dark guitars come crashing down upon us, Nausea upsets our everyday understanding of not only noise rap by shocking us into a new awareness about the genre, but also about what existence more generally, can be.

Ominous Signs

Ominous Signs’ “Searching The Fire” – New Album Out Now!!

Been waiting patiently on this one and I’ve very happy to say the day has finally arrived!! Check out this fresh new album from Ominous Signs called “Searching The Fire”… You can grab yourself a copy at name your price download right here!

Tracklist:
1. A Wall Of Light
2. The Cursed Gold Of Andvari
3. Acid Reigns On The Iron Republic
4. The Hanged Man (Feat. Cadaver & Despize)

“It’s been seven years since a chance meeting online, through a shared interest in underground hip-hop, brought together producer, Aendiem [Finland] and emcee/vocalist, Cognition [United States], for the first time. Having already worked on hip-hop music for many years, both found they hungered for a group endeavor and decided to work on a few songs together. What resulted from those earliest sessions was pure magic — lyrics, atmosphere, beats, melding together perfectly. When a handful of songs reached completion, each man realized a better match for their individual skills probably didn’t exist; the chemistry, unmatched, when compared to previous endeavors. Soon, whispers of a full-length album seemed the inevitable next step.

With an ocean and over four-thousand miles stretching between them, both men knew it would be a challenge doing an album together. Neither had any idea that the pathway that lay before them was littered with daggers and a sky that burned notably with the sweetest agonies of accomplishment. One might observe how these troubles, [IE: hard drive crashes bringing the loss of vocals, drums, lyrics, etc] fit perfectly with the aphotic music the duo composed.  If anything, it plummeted them further into the gloom and macabre. Down the rabbit hole they went, with smiles on their faces.

Ominous Signs is more a soundtrack to some future apocalyptic world, than it is any defined genre, though its roots are based squarely in hip-hop. Cognition’s origins lay with poetry and his words bring imagery and moody cynicism to the forefront. The lyrics are a radiant lantern illuminating the sweeping, fantastical and symphonic atmospherics Aendiem brings to the music. Prepare to be taken on a phantasmagorical trip through the senses, deep into unexplored realms and forgotten places”.

Ragnarok

“Ragnarok” Brand New Full Length from Ill Clinton… OUT NOW!

Ill Clinton just released his epic new full length entitled Ragnarok and even better; It’s available on a limited edition cassette tape for your listening pleasure!

“According to Norse Mythology, Ragnarok represents the end… three forceful winters with no summer… the decline of morality and the bitter end to existence. Ill Clinton captures the doom of the Gods without sounding thunderous as one would predict. As the cold winters freeze the Earth, so does the smooth jazz influenced beats and atmospheric samples Ill Clinton produces. The blunted chill sounds have a calming end to them. The clear vibe in this album suspends time, maintains chaos, and weathers the storm like a VIking ship sailing across the Atlantic. The eeriness is capturing and telling. As I listen to the album I imagine snow gently falling, surrounding the sky and mystifying the atmosphere. Limited to 100 green cassettes on cobalt tape”.
