Time for some severe freshness with the epic new album from San Mateo hiphop phenomenon Onewerd!!
It’s aptly named “Alive” and that’s exactly what it is… The amount of effort and just downright heart and passion, you can hear on this album definitely makes it one of our favourites from 2017… Just came out a little late in the year to make our list.
To top it off, this project features the likes of Ceschi, Sole, Graves33 and more and I cannot recommend it enough.. especially if you dig people breaking barriers in there artforms like I do.
It’s available right now via Fakefour and you can pick up your free download right here:

and here are a few select werdz on the project from the man himself:
“I’ve always loved independent music. Ever since I first discovered underground indie hip hop through the four track tapes my friend brought with him from Amoeba music to our college dorms in Oregon, I could tell there was something different in the DNA of those songs. All that underground shit that I first heard hit me way differently….
and a big part of it was the independent factor. I’m not sure that I understand it, or that I can explain it clearly..why it was that the “indie” part of it made me feel differently, but I think that’s an important and worthwhile kernel of truth. I’m grateful for the likeminded friends I’ve made thru music, because without them the tours, shows, albums, and experiences I’ve had wouldn’t exist.
I think the reason we get along though, is because at the end of the day, we’re all independent….. we all go back to our own bedroom studios, computers, beat machines, and notebooks, and create our own unique universes of images, words, and sounds.
I love that world. I love creating more of it everyday, and I love sharing it with the people who are willing to give of their time and attention. I’m deeply grateful to Ceschi and Fake Four Inc. for helping me to share this project that’s been my own weird, little world for the past year”.
